It feels like the last couple years have gone by way to fast. I am about to graduate from the community college I am going to. It is only a two year school, but I can clearly remember my first days there, and how different everything seemed. Somewhere along the way it all became routine. I guess that is how we, as humans, work. I am looking forward to taking a year off to go travel. I am pretty confident OLT is the route for me, though I seriously considered European STF.

I have a huge paper due in a couple of days. I don't think I have ever done anything so intellectually difficult and challenging in my entire life. Its a history paper on the acculturation of warfare techniques through conflict. Probably boring to 99% of the general population, but I can live with that, I like it anyway. =)

Hey guys, its been awhile.
I don't know if anyone reads these things anymore, that might be the reason I am about to post this. The inspiration for this post is the imminent election in a couple days. I am not a big fan of Obama, as many of my friends are. Hell, I don't want you to vote against what you feel is right, but I wanted to post something someone else wrote that got me thinking.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Expect Fewer Liberties if Obama Wins

I am sincerely worried that if Obama wins, the checks and balances incorporated into our Constitution may not be enough to prevent a radical and irreversible diminution of our individual liberties, because a confluence of factors has emerged to create a 'climate' of acquiescence.

These are the factors:

A shockingly unknown candidate, whose mysterious past and numerous radical alliances are deliberately left unexplored by a corrupt, supportive media

The candidate's charismatic qualities that inspire a cultish loyalty   A major financial crisis that exacerbates people's fears and insecurities A largely manufactured cloud of negativity over America, perpetuated by the media An apparently discredited conservative movement that has been blamed for all our problems by a 'lapdog' press.

If a Democratic Congress is swept in with him, this un-vetted man will be given unprecedented power, a license to operate without scrutiny, with all challenges effectively impotent to oppose his radical blueprint for a 'new America'.

The unprincipled Democratic Party, aided by a morally compromised media, which for six years demonized President Bush and America with polarizing propaganda designed to dispirit and divide Americans on the basis of race and class, will have their president:  There would be no "separation of powers", no "checks and balances anywhere."

...All of these factors would permit Obama to fundamentally move our economy irretrievably toward socialism, in the name of 'economic justice', and emasculate the war on terrorists, to restore our international image.

Would Obama win if people actually knew that he with his allies in Congress would nationalize medical care (so we can all be on medicare)... unilaterally disarm our nuclear weapons (let's just all be friends)... push the Global Poverty Act (what's that?)... appoint activist judges (the Constitution: who needs it?)... pass legislation banning handgun ownership (the first thing Hitler did)... and increase taxes on producers to expand "redistribution" (sacrifice your dream, to bring about his dream)?

Would he win if they knew that Obama, together with Pelosi and Reid, would further promote the 'progressive' agenda of the National Education Association (Bill Ayres for Secretary of Education)... abandon Israel (to win approval from his radical Muslim cousin?)... retreat and surrender in Iraq so as to reduce the defense budget... and reinstate the draft in the name of racial equity?

What about if they knew that he would nationalize our private 401(k) funds to 'save social security'... and abuse governmental power to target any critics by investigating ordinary "Joes"... and implement the Fairness Doctrine to shut down political dissent from talk radio?

David Limbaugh is (the original) writer, author, and attorney. His book "Bankrupt: The Intellectual and Moral Bankruptcy of Today's Democratic Party" was released recently in paperback. To find out more about David Limbaugh, please visit his Web site at www.davidlimbaugh.com.

Hey all,

Here I am sitting in the DC CARP center, waiting for a meeting. Exiting? lol
I am enjoying it here, and finding plenty of avenues in which I can hone my spiritual life. I am working hard on my external life as well, but that's taking a backseat pozish atm. It feels good to be away from home, working for a cause that has a great message. So many things in life create confusion by their mere existence, it feels refreshing to have some clarity. GPF seems like a completely different concept since I have arrived in DC, in the light that it has more value and meaning. Meeting new faces and reuniting with old ones is very pleasant as well. I miss people back home, friends mostly, as well as all the peeps that I know and love who are not so close to home. Is anyone else getting the exited feeling when they are thinking about camp?
The advantage to being around all this influence about moving forward in life, has really given me a determination to work harder than ever in school. I worked hard last semester, this semester I want to be a tank! haha.

Ohh, meeting time, gtg.
Hope you all advance your selves in a productive manner!

~Oliver
